Chelsea forward, Willian has said that Liverpool is far ahead of the Blues and other Premier League top clubs because of ‘continuity’.
The Brazilian international said that the Reds and their manager Jurgen Klopp, have been together for a long time, adding that the philosophy of continuity is working for the team.
Liverpool is currently 25 points ahead of second-place Manchester City on the Premier League table before Premier League was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic across the world.
The UEFA Champions League holders need just two more victories to clinch their first Premier League title in 30 years.
Asked why Liverpool are so far ahead of Chelsea, other Premier League top clubs, Willian, whose current deal at Stamford Bridge will end this summer told ESPN: “I think the secret is continuity.
“Their coach has been with the club for almost five years. When you have continuity, you can win titles.
“They had a sequence of significant victories, which show the maturity of the team.
“You have to have time to get things done, and Liverpool has had a coach and a philosophy for a long time.
“Their squad is the same team, the cast, it is one or the other only that changes, the base is the same.”
The 31-year-old added: “In Manchester City too, Pep Guardiola has been there for a long time, the philosophy is always the same.”
