The Benue State government has commenced the fumigation of markets and other public places as part of measures to get rid of the dreaded Coronavirus from Benue State.
Recall that Governor Samuel Ortom told newsmen on Wednesday that fumigation of markets would commence on Thursday.
Dr. Edward Amali, a member of the Benue State Action Committee on COVID-19, who is supervising the fumigation exercise told newsmen on Thursday that the committee had lived up to expectations since inception.
He said the State Action Committee is determined to fumigate the entire state to stop the state from recording another positive case of the virus.
Amali also noted that hospitals, markets, parks and even streets where the virus may be suspected to be hanging would equally be fumigated, stressing that Governor Samuel Ortom and his Deputy, Engr. Benson Abounu were determined to eradicate the virus from the state.
According to him, the exercise would take up to a week to get all the markets and other places fumigated.
