A Russian national has shot dead five people for “talking loudly” outside his house.
BBC reports that the area is currently under lockdown due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
On Sunday, Police confirmed that the killing occurred in the village of Yelatma, Ryazan region about 200km south-east of Moscow.
The incident happened at 10pm local time Saturday.
Investigators explained that the man initially complained to the victims from his balcony.
During the ensuing argument, he opened fire with a hunting rifle.
The four men and one woman “died of their injuries on the spot”, the Investigative Committee said.
The suspect, who has not been named, is in custody. His apartment was searched and the weapon seized.
