One of the youngest decorated pilots in Nigeria, Captain Jamil Abubakar, has distributed food items and relief materials to cushion the effect of COVID-19.
The IT expert and humanitarian has donated cash and supplies worth N50million to the vulnerable and the elderly in Lagos and Zamfara States.
Tagged “Operation Feed The Needy”, the scheme, in the past few days, shared bags of rice, cartons of noodles, hand sanitizers, toiletries, etc., at Agege, Surulere, Obalende, Yaba and Makoko in Lagos.
Similar donations were made in Zamfara with plans to extend the largesse to some other states.
Jamil, son of former Inspector General of Police, M.D. Abubakar, joins other philanthropists including Atiku Abubakar, Aliko Dangote, Femi Otedola and the likes, who have made contributions to the fight against coronavirus in Nigeria.
Jamil is currently a senior pilot with Azman Air and married to Fatima, daughter of Africa’s richest man, Dangote.
