The Kwara State Technical Committee on COVID-19 on Monday, confirmed two cases of Coronavirus in the state.
The cases included wife of the UITH patient, a UK returnee, who died last Thursday.
The second case is also a UK returnee.
The committee disclosed this in a statement signed by Rafiu Ajakaye, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor/Spokesman of the Technical Committee on COVID-19.
The results were confirmed after the government received official confirmation of test results from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) Test Centre in Ibadan.
The governor is expected to address residents of the state in a press briefing on Tuesday at 11am to give further further measures to tackle the virus in the state.
Meanwhile, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirmed ten new cases of COVID-19 on Monday .
The centre in a tweet said, “Ten new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Nigeria: 6 in Lagos, 2 in FCT and 2 in Edo.”
DAILY POST recalls that UITH Chairman of Medical Advisory Committee Dr A. O. Saka said that the deceased, a 57-year-old man was labeled suspected ‘coronavirus case’.
