Reno Omokri, a former aide to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, has warned President Muhammadu Buhari to call off the lockdown imposed in major cities, to curb the spread of COVID-19.
Omokri claimed that hunger was killing more people than the coronavirus pandemic.
In a tweet on Tuesday, he claimed that there might be a social upheaval if Nigerians continue to sit at home without food.
“There is hunger in the land.
“If General @MBuhari continues to make Nigerians sit at home without giving them food, the social upheaval that will erupt may make the Russian revolution look like child’s play.
“Hunger is killing more people than the #CoronaVirus,” he tweeted.
Buhari on March 29, imposed a 14-day lockdown in Abuja, Lagos and Ogun states
There are currently over 238 cases across the country.
