Femi Fani-Kayode, former Aviation Minister, has faulted the federal government’s continued lockdown due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
Fani-Kayode said the federal government can’t lock people down without providing food for them as palliatives.
In a tweet, the former minister warned that the federal government may be provoking a revolution if it failed to feed Nigerians.
He wrote: “If you insist on locking people down you must provide food for them. You cannot just lock them down and expect them to starve to death.
“If you do not give them food and still insist on the lockdown then you are provoking a revolution which may consume us all. People are hungry!”
President Muhammadu Buhari had two weeks ago ordered a total lockdown in Abuja, Lagos and Ogun States respectively.
Buhari had given the order in a bid to tackle the spread of COVID-19.
However, there is much anxiety in the affected states regarding the lockdown as Buhari will at 7pm today address the nation.
