The UK Coronavirus death toll on Tuesday pushed past the 12,000 barrier after 744 more people died in England alone.
At least 40 frontline NHS staff have also been reported dead from COVID-19 in the UK.
Among the latest deaths is a 65-year-old nurse who contracted the disease while treating patients.
The figures from the Office for National Statistics also revealed that more people died in England and Wales in the week up to April 3 than any other week since records began.
The SUn UK reports that if the trend of deaths outside hospitals continues, the real UK death toll today could be more than 13,000.
According to the reports deaths in the UK reached 11,329 after 717 more people died from the killer virus.
Recall that the United Kingdom (UK) on Friday recorded the highest daily Coronavirus death toll in the world.
Meanwhile, the European Union, on Tuesday donated 12 billion naira (50 million Euros) to support Nigeria’s efforts towards controlling the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic.
