The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), has reacted to the declaration of total lockdown in Kano state by Governor Umar Ganduje.
Ganduje on Tuesday ordered total lockdown in the state as cases of COVID-19 hit four.
The state NLC Chairman, Mr Kabir Ado-Minjibir in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on Wednesday, commended Ganduje for declaring total lockdown in the state to prevent the spread of Coronavirus.
He added that the NLC is not against any measures taken by the Government to stop the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in the state.
“We also call on security agencies to respect our members on essential services and urge all workers, including frontline Health Professionals and journalists to always use proper uniforms and means of identification while on duty
He appealed to the entire workers of the state not on essential services to obey the decision of the state government by staying at home.
