Former Kaduna lawmaker, Shehu Sani, has reacted as US President, Donald Trump, instructed his administration to halt funding to the World Health Organization (WHO) for the Coronavirus (COVID-19).
DAILY POST recalls that President Trump had on Tuesday said he had instructed his administration to halt funding to the WHO.
According to Trump, WHO had “failed in its basic duty” in response to the Coronavirus outbreak.
Reacting, Shehu Sani, via his Twitter account on Wednesday, said putting a stop to the funds given to WHO for the fight against COVID-19 at this period is unfortunate and dangerous.
He, however, urged China, Europe, and the Middle East to fill the funding gap to correct the funding imbalance.
“The US decision to suspend funding for the @WHO at this material time is unfortunate and dangerous.
“Not at this time when it’s the rallying point against the deadly pandemic.
“However, China, Europe, and the Middle East should fill the funding gap to correct the funding imbalance,” Sani tweeted.
