The federal government on Wednesday, sealed Med Contour in Lagos State.
The Federal Competitive and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) stormed the building following allegations of failed plastic surgeries.
The FCCPC confirmed that it had begun investigation into the practices and process of Med Contour, its promoter, associates and employees.
Chief Executive Officer, Babatunde Irukera, said the commission’s initial review indicated sufficient probable cause to inquire into the consumer protection aspects of the representations and services of Med Contour and its operatives.
“In furtherance of an open investigation, on reasonable suspicion of illegal activities (S.18(1) FCCPA), FCCPC today sealed Med Contour in an abundance of caution & consumer safety pending further inquiry,” the agency said in a tweet.
A few days ago, Med Contour and the owner, Dr. Anu Felix, were accused by a Twitter user, Omotola Taiwo (@Omohtee12) of a botched surgery she had at the clinic.
In a video, which had since gone viral, Taiwo accused Anu of incompetence, adding that she has been fighting for her life since the surgery.
