Authorities in Adamawa State have quarantined 99 citizens returning mostly from Lagos and a few other states.
The returnees, said to be mostly factory workers from Lagos and Ogun States, will be observed in isolation centres for 14 days for possible signs of Coronavirus.
DAILY POST gathered Saturday morning that 59 of the returnees have been isolated at a facility in Numan, while 40 of them have been quarantined at another facility in Demsa.
Numan and Demsa, 70 and 58 kilometres respectively from the state capital, Yola, are the gateway towns and local government headquarters along which Yola-bound travellers pass from neighbouring Gombe State.
The Chairman of the Adamawa State COVID-19 Containment Committee, Bashir Ahmad, ordered the isolation of the returnees in line with a standing instruction of Governor Ahmadu Fintiri on people entering Adamawa from other states.
Bashir Ahmad who leads the containment committee in his primary capacity as Secretary to the State Government (SSG), has his hands full of activities aimed at making Adamawa retain its status as a state without Coronavirus.
