Former President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki has sent his condolences to President Muhammadu Buhari over the death of his Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari.
Abba Kyari died after battling COVID-19 on Friday.
Reacting, Saraki on his Twitter page prayed that ‘Allah forgives Kyari’s sins.
He wrote, “Innalillahi Wa Inna Ilaehi Rajiun. I commiserate with President @MBuhari and the Kyari family over the passing away of the Chief of Staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari.
“May Allah forgive his sins and grant him Aljannah Firdaus. Amin
Also, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State described Kyari as a man of potential who died working for Nigeria.
“I commiserate with the Nation, our Leader, President @MBuhari, the immediate family as well as friends and associates of the departed compatriot over this shocking development.
“May God grant us all the strength to bear this loss.”
Similarly, Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq described the death of the Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari as a huge loss to the country.
“The death of the Chief of Staff is a huge loss. We mourn Mallam Abba. He will be sorely missed.
“On behalf of the government and people of Kwara State, we commiserate with Mr. President, the Federal Executive Council, and the immediate and extended family of Mallam Abba. We pray Almighty Allah to grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus,” AbdulRazaq said in a statement by his media spokesman Rafiu Ajakaye.
“We salute his contributions to the country, his avowed loyalty to the nation and the President, as well as his commitment to duty as a prominent member of Mr. President’s administration.
“This development reminds us once again to unite at this trying time to collectively work towards containing the rampaging threat to all of humanity by adhering to all safety measures.”
Also, Billionaire businessman Aliko Dangote has expressed sadness over Kyari’s death.
“It is with a heavy heart that I received the news of the passing of the Chief of Staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari, a brother and true patriot. The Nation has lost a brilliant, illustrious and quintessential technocrat.
“My condolences to his family, the President, and the Nation. May Almighty Allah grant him mercy and a peaceful repose in Aljannah Firdausi, Ameen.”
