Governor Umar Ganduje has sacked the State Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Muazu Magaji, for rejoicing over the death of the Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Abba Kyari.
Mr. Magaji had while reacting to Kyari’s death in a Facebook post said Nigeria was now free.
According to him, Abba Kyari had so much power that he decided the fate of Nigerians.
He was quoted as saying, “There is a world of difference between a good person and a good leader. Leadership is an aggregated quality of mass empathy and personal favours.
However, reacting angrily, President Muhammadu Buhari’s aide on new media, Bashir Ahmad criticized Magaji, for his statement.
Shortly after Bashir’s criticism, Ganduje sacked the commissioner.
Bashir who confirmed the development on Twitter wrote, “ @GovUmarGanduje of Kano State has relieved the appointment of the Commissioner of Works and Infrastructure, Engr Mu’azu Magaji.
“He was removed following his unguarded utterances against the person of late Abba Kyari, a statement from the State Information Commissioner.”
