Founder of Inri Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Babatunde Ayodele, has warned President Muhammadu Buhari not to extend the lockdown put in place to curb the spread of COVID-19 beyond April 27.
On Monday, April 13, Buhari announced an extension to the initial two-week lockdown by another 14 days.
Primate Ayodele has now warned that if the president adds more days, the people will revolt.
“There is already too much anger in the land, and so, the government should not allow the lockdown beyond April 27, if the government fails to do this, the people will revolt.
“There will be protests and deviance by the people so we urge the government to be very cautious of this,” he said according to The Sun.
As at Saturday afternoon, Nigeria has officially recorded 493 cases of the Coronavirus.
Buhari’s Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari, is one of the deaths recorded from the pandemic.
