The Presidency has come under attack for non-compliance with the social distancing order at the burial of Abba Kyari, Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari.
A video showing Garba Shehu, Buhari’s Spokesman in a crowd had surfaced online.
The video showed the spokesman and a group of persons standing close to each other while prayers were being offered for Abba Kyari, moments after his body arrived at the defense guest house in Abuja on Saturday.
As was disclosed by the presidency on Saturday morning, the late CoS died of COVID-19 related complications in Lagos State on Friday.
However, the lack of social distancing among those offering prayers at the CoS’s burial raised concerns and generated backlash at the Presidency from Nigerians.
