The Chairman Senate Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights and Legal Matters, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, has described the late Presidential Chief of staff, Mallam Abba Kyari, as a loyal and dependable ally, who left indelible footprints at the nation’s presidency during his lifetime.
He said the coordinating and stabilizing roles played by Kyari under President Muhammadu Buhari’s presidency, had brought him fame and respect that would ever remain a reference point in the history of the country.
Bamidele in a statement in Ado Ekiti said the demise of the presidential top-notch was saddening and signaled that the dreaded COVID 19 has become a national malaise that requires concerted and more ruthless actions to get rid of.
The federal Lawmaker added that the achievements of the Buhari’s government and holistic Implementation of programs of government were achievable through Kyari’s inputs and contributions.
“The demise of Abba Kyari was devastating, because every ardent follower of the presidency, which is the symbol of the nation would attest to the enormous influences wielded by the departed presidential aide.
“Though he didn’t play much politics, he undertook pivotal administrative roles that had contributed immensely to the execution of programs of the APC-led federal government at the federal level.
“His stabilizing role and those spartan and incorruptible qualities of Abba Kyari would be sorely missed by President Buhari and other Nigerians, who valued the competence of the late Chief of Staff.
“I pray for President Buhari, the Borno State Governor, Prof Babagana Zulum, Kyari’s immediate family and admirers at this excruciating moment of grief and pray to Allah to grant them the fortitude to bear the monumental loss”
