The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has disclosed that 13 COVID-19 related deaths have been recorded in the State.
Sanwo-Olu said each of the dead people had a unique story and came from a different background.
The Governor, who made the disclosure in a tweet, vowed to continue the fight against the spread of COVID-19.
He tweeted: “Lagos has lost 13 people to #COVID19. Each person had a unique story and came from a different background. Today, we mourn them and recommit to doing all we can to slow the spread of #COVID19.
“The risks are real, let’s #StayAtHome and follow guidelines from @LSMOH and @NCDCgov.”
This is coming at a time when the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, confirmed 49 new COVID-19 cases in the country.
The new cases were identified in Lagos, FCT, Kano, Ogun, Oyo, and Ekiti States.
Nigeria’s tally now stands at 542 with the latest development.
