Four new cases of Ebola have been confirmed in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
The World Health Organisation (WHO) Regional Office for Africa confirmed the development on its official twitter account @WHOAFRO on Wednesday.
It said, “Four new cases of Ebola have been reported in the past 10 days in Beni, DRC – the epicenter of the outbreak.
“WHO continues to support the Ministry of Health in surveillance efforts, investigating almost 2,000 alerts each day despite continued insecurity,’’ it said.
Recall that the WHO had on April 10 confirmed a new case of Ebola virus in the city of Beni in DRC.
The new case was confirmed after 52 days of not recording a fresh infection in the country.
