Nasarawa Governor, Abdullahi Sule has explained that the former Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Ahmed Aliyu Tijjani, was sacked because his government needed an effective and efficient service delivery.
DAILY POST had reported that the Governor had on Monday sacked the former SSG, directing him to immediately hand over all government property in his possession.
However, while swearing in the new SSG, Barr. Mohammed Aliyu, on Thursday at the Government House Lafia, Sule urged him to be innovative and also make available contributions to enable the government achieve its development objectives.
He said “it is obvious to state that since our assumption of office one year ago, our main focus has been to assemble a team of tested technocrats, resourceful experts, and experienced personalities that will assist in the implementation of government policies and programs.
“Accordingly, owing to exigencies of governance, it has become imperative to re-strengthen the machinery of government to enhance effective and efficient service delivery.
“It is for this reason that I found it necessary to relieve the appointment of the former SSG, thereby, creating the vacancy for the new SSG to be appointed.
“I need to state without doubts that Barr. Muhammed Ubandoma Aliyu is a known political gladiator, grassroots mobilizer, a result-oriented personality, and above all, a goal-getter.
“As you all know, the office of the SSG is the fulcrum of government activities, which requires that the occupant of the office should be a person with proven integrity, loyalty, and outstanding antecedents, which were the guiding traits in appointing the choice of the new SSG”.
