The Nigerian Government has announced plans to evacuate another 1,000 Nigerians this week.
APTF Coordinator, Dr. Sani Aliyu, made this known during the daily briefing of the Task Force, adding that 500 evacuees would land in Abuja and the other 500 in Lagos.
He mentioned that they will be coming in under the new evacuation protocol, which demands a pre-evacuation test and 14- day self isolation on arrival against the former government -monitored isolation in hotels.
Over 4,000 Nigerians are stranded across the world following the global lockdown occasioned by the COVID-19 pandemic.
As at June, about 1,523 Nigerians have been evacuated to the country since the coronavirus pandemic.
On Saturday, about 269 Nigerians stranded in India on Saturday arrived Lagos and Abuja.
