Commissioner of Police in Zamfara State, Usman Nagogo, has warned the 80-man combined security team deployed to Bindin Village to avoid rivalry.
He gave the warning on Sunday in a statement by the Police Public Relations, SP Shehu Mohammed.
NAN reports that the community was last week invaded by hundreds of bandits, who killed over 20 people.
Nagogo told the personnel to “shun inter-agency rivalry and discharge their duties with all sense of professionalism and commitment.”
The Police boss advised them to be conscious of their personal safety and security.
The team comprises the Army, Police and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) personnel.
The squad was set up to protect villages in Dansadau Emirate of Maru Local Government.
It will also complement the existing security arrangement in the area.
The personnel were assembled by CP Nagogo, Commandant, 1 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Gusau, Brig.- Gen. Olatokunbo Bello and Commandant, NSCDC, Garba Aliyu.
