The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has been asked to unseal some estates locked in Abia State on Wednesday.
They are Luxury Apartments, Millennium Apartments, and Ogwumabiri Event Center in Umuahia, the capital.
On Thursday, the commission told DAILY POST that its operatives stormed the estates but didn’t figure further details.
“I am confirming that the EFCC sealed those estates, that’s all I can say”, he said.
In a statement, Trademore International Holding Limited gave the EFCC a 48-hour ultimatum to reverse its action.
The company’s legal representative, Nwoke John Kalu Esq., called for an immediate removal of the notice of seizure placed on the respective property.
The firm insisted that estates were wrongly marked and that they were startled by development.
“We expected a thorough due diligence from the EFCC before they marked our housing estates. This shouldn’t be happening because it sends a bad signal to those planning to invest in Nigeria.
“There should be an enabling environment for businesses like ours to operate without being caught in political games or be victims of inaccuracies”, it read.
The statement added the company’s estates in Abuja currently accommodate over 30 members of staff of the EFCC.
Noting that it has no involvement in politics, the company said it was mainly focused on helping the country address its housing needs.
It also demanded that the EFCC tenders an apology or face legal action.
