The Mayor of Seoul, Park Won-soon, has been found dead after disappearing on July 9 in Beiyue Mountain, Seoul, NAN reports.
The South Korean police, while confirming his death, said they found Park’s body at Mount Bugak in northern Seoul hours after hundreds of officers started searching for him.
The police said the team launched a full search after they received a report of Park Yuanchun’s disappearance on Thursday.
According to the police, he was found near where his phone signal was last detected though the cause of death is subject to further investigation.
However, Korean media reports that Park Won-sun’s daughter reported to the police on the afternoon of Thursday that Park Won-sun had left home after leaving similar words on the day, and then lost contact and shut down the phone.
Also, information released by the police and fire department, from his CCTV records, showed that Park left his residence in Seoul that morning and passed a park in Jongno District, Seoul.
It was also reported that he did not show up for work on Thursday, and he also canceled his 9-day work schedule due to recent physical discomfort.
