Dr Omale Amedu has been appointed as the National Coordinator of the National Blood Transfusion Service (NBTS).
He replaces Dr Oluwatoyin Smith, who recently retired from civil service.
The announcement was made on Thursday by Abdullahi Haruna, NBTS Head, Media and Communications.
The new coordinator is a trained Medical Doctor, administrator and leadership mentor.
Amedu graduated from the University of Jos (UNIJOS).
He attended University of Liverpool, UK, Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye; National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) Kuru; and the Atlantic International University, Honolulu-Hawaii, U.S.
Amedu was quoted as charging staff to be diligent and result-oriented to increase the blood needs and safety.
Haruna added that Amedu has commenced reorganisation of the service for improved efficiency.
