About 11 people have been confirmed killed Monday night in a fresh attack in Gora Gan village, Zangon Kataf local government area of Kaduna State by suspected Fulani militias.
Also, about seven were reported to have different degrees of injuries and have been rushed for treatment in an undisclosed hospital, with others missing.
Security men have taken over the area to ensure normalcy returns to the affected village.
The CAN Vice Chairman of the local government area, Pastor Isaac Ango Makama who confirmed the attack to DAILY POST, said the attackers numbering 50, stormed the village at about 7pm and started shooting sporadically, leading to the loss of lives and burning of undisclosed number of houses.
He said that most of the corpses have so far been deposited at the Zonkwa General hospital while some of the villagers are still searching for their loved ones.
He called on individuals and organisations to come to the aid of the affected villagers to assist them at this trying moment with foodstuffs and other materials of livelihoods.
He added that Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs, camp at Zonkwa is daily receiving more displaced people coming to take shelter.
Secretary of Mercy IDP camp in Zonkwa, Mr. Ezekiel James disclosed that the camp has registered 559 people who have fled from neighbouring villages, with more coming in to take shelter.
He added that the camp is in dire need of drugs and facilities to treat some of the IDPs who are traumatized.
He appealed to privileged individuals to see the need of extending their gestures towards alleviating the plight of the IDPs.
