The Executive Vice Chairman, EVC and Chief Executive Officer, CEO, of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Prof. Umar Danbatta, has mourned the death of Ismaila Funtua.
The NCC boss commiserated with the family of late Isa Funtua, publisher, industrialist and founder of Bulet International Nigeria Limited.
Funtua passed on at 78 in Abuja on Monday, July 20, 2020.
A statement to DAILY POST on Tuesday by Dr. Ikechukwu Adinde, Director, Public Affairs of the Commission, said the EVC, alongside some staff of the NCC paid a condolence visit to the bereaved family in Abuja.
Danbatta said that late Funtua was “an industrialist, a loyal and trusted ally of President Muhammadu Buhari, whose accomplishments have left indelible marks in critical sectors of the economy.”
He said the news of Funtua’s death came to him as a shock, describing the late publisher as a complete and compassionate gentleman and a true Nigerian patriot.
He also commiserated with President Muhammadu, family and other associates of the late politician and prayed for the peaceful repose of his soul.
According to the statement, Danbatta was received by Abubakar Funtua, one of the deceased’s sons during the visit.
