Two traditional title holders, Dr. Suleiman Shuaibu and Dr. Tijani Usman Danfodio have pulled out of Shinkafi emirate council following the turbarning of the former minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode by the Emir of Shinkafi, Alhaji Mohammed Makwashe Isah.
According to the two traditional title holders, the Emir did not consult any of the stakeholders in Shinkafi emirate council before giving the traditional title.
“The action of the Emir has been generating a lot of tension in Shinkafi Local Government Area of the state,” they said.
Continuing, the traditional title holders pointed out that the Emir breached the traditional law of the emirate by giving the traditional title to Chief Femi Fani-Kayode in one of the hotels in Gusau, the state capital instead of in his own palace.
“We held meeting with other traditional title leaders in Shinkafi emirate council who would also pull out of the council today,” they said.
Speaking further, they vowed that the Emir must be dragged to court of competent jurisdiction, alleging that Fani-Kayode had always been a sworn enemy of the north, as well as anti-Islam.
