Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Sabo Nanono, has asked Nigerians to be patient with President Muhammadu Buhari government on insecurity challenge.
He spoke on Thursday while handing over a water treatment plant built by the ministry in Bukkuyum Local Government Area of Zamfara.
The minister was represented by North West Zonal Director in the ministry, Olusegun Owolabi, NAN reports.
Nanono said that the ministry was working with security agencies to ensure adequate security was provided for farmers.
“The Federal Government’s security agencies are working round the clock to guarantee the security of farmers everywhere in the country. Farmers are therefore encouraged to be patient with the government,” he assured.
He noted that the plant would improve good health for rural dwellers to encourage high productivity.
Nanono said infrastructural support to farmers was not limited to the plant but includes social amenities such as solar lights, rural roads and subsidised inputs and equipment.
“The present administration in Nigeria led by President Muhammad Buhari does not only believe in farmers but interested in their well being,” he added.
Zamfara Commissioner for Water Resources, Junaidu Muhammad hailed the gesture.
