The World Health Organisation, WHO, has reacted to insinuations that the Coronavirus vaccines when available would be for the wealthy.
WHO’s Head of emergency programmes, Mike Ryan, assured that the vaccine when available will be for both the rich and poor.
Ryan who disclosed this at an event on Thursday said: “And we need to be fair about this because this is a global good.
“Vaccines for this pandemic are not for the wealthy, they are not for the poor, they are for everybody.”
Ryan also disclosed that the coronavirus vaccine will not be available before the end of the year.
He stated that the vaccine may be available early next year.
“We’re making good progress.
“Realistically it is going to be the first part of next year before we start seeing people getting vaccinated,” he said.
