Ahead of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebrations, Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kaduna State Command, Babangida Abdullahi Dustinma, has deployed over 3,000 personnel for patrol, surveillance and general security in the state.
In a statement on Wednesday, Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASC Orndiir Terzungwe said, the Commandant, made the disclosure at the command headquarters, even as he decried wanton destruction of lives and property in some parts of the state.
The statement further enjoined residents to eschew violence, instead, embrace peaceful co-existence as a panacea for development.
“Considering the deplorable security situation, deployment will be ensured in all the 23 Local Government Areas in response to the heinous and ugly trend.
“Already, I have directed all the three Area Commanders and Divisional Officers to intensify efforts in surveillance and intelligence to fish out perpetrators of dastard acts,” the statement said
Dutsinma stressed the need for synergy and collaboration among agencies saddled with responsibilities of security even and tasked members of different communities to assist with useful information on whereabouts of criminals.
The statement warned parents and guardians to monitor their children and wards against indulging in illegal acts and also, expressed worry in the upsurge of criminal acts like kidnapping and rape carried out by young youths.
