The Zamfara State Police Command has cautioned that people, especially the youths should not take the Eid –el-Kabir celebrations a license for mischief and indiscipline, saying that the period calls for sober reflection considering the terror attacks in the state.
The command assured of a hitch-free celebration across the fourteen local governments areas of the state under the watchful eyes of Commissioner of Police, Barrister Usman Nagogo, assuring members of the public that, adequate security measures have been put in place to cover all the praying grounds as well as on the highways to forestall any security hitch.
This was contained in a statement signed and made available to newsmen in Gusau, the state capital by the command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Mohammed Shehu
“To this end, the Commissioner of Police has directed all Area Commanders, DPOs and various Tactical commanders to ensure that they cover their areas of responsibility through aggressive stop and search, rigorous patrols as well as raiding of criminal hideout areas” he said.
“Similarly, the commissioner of police enjoins members of the public to be security conscious and report all suspicious movement to the nearest police station for prompt action.
According to the statement, the state police boss further warned all and sundry to abide by the rules and regulations meant for the prevention of the spread of COVID-19 in Zamfara State.
