Deji Adeyanju, convener of pro-Democracy group, Concerned Nigerians, on Monday charged the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to lead a protest against Godswill Akpabio, Minister of Niger Delta Affairs.
Adeyanju said PDP should lead a protest to the Presidential Villa and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, demanding for Akpabio’s sack.
He said the opposition party should also demand the sack of the Acting Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Kemebradikumo Pondei.
The activist, in a tweet, explained that PDP should stage the protest over the N81 billion allegedly spent during the COVID-19 lockdown by the NDDC.
He tweeted: “PDP should be leading a protest to Aso Rock or EFCC asking for the sack of Akpabio, Pondei and co who are alleged to have stolen N81bn during COVID-19 lockdown when Nigerians were passing through hell. Then look at the N64bn for fencing UniMaid.”
The House of Representatives are currently probing the mismanagement of funds by NDDC management.
The ongoing probe has made Akpabio to accuse some lawmakers of benefiting from most NDDC contracts.
Also, Pondei, in the course of the probe had slumped.
