Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has appointed nine new aides, including a writer and social critic, Alhaji Musa Ahmad Azare, who has been appointed as Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on project monitoring.
A statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Mohammed Sabi’u Baba, stated that the appointments are with immediate effect.
The new SSA Project Monitor will be in charge of supervising and monitoring of capital and other projects awarded by the government.
Alhaji Azare is to find out and report to the governor the progress and quality of projects being executed by contractors and other government suppliers.
A prolific writer and social critic, the SSA Project Monitoring is known to take on governments over unpopular policies, which earned him a brush with the law as he was in August 2016 abducted in a commando style by the previous government and detained.
Azare has, however, never hidden his love for Governor Mohammed before and after the 2019 governorship election in the state.
Other people appointees are Isa Sade, SSA on Multilateral; Bala Sale Chiroma, SSA on Youth; Harsanu Yunusa Guyaba, SSA on Local Government Affairs and Khalid Barau Ningi, SSA on Empowerment.
Others are Zakari Inuwa Labaran, SSA on Education/SUBEB; Habiba Umar Alkaleri, SSA Office of the First Lady; Adamu Abubakar Barde, SSA on Domestic and Ishaya Bukata, Special Assistant, Governor’s Office.
Meanwhile, the newly-appointed SSA Project Monitoring, Alhaji Azare expressed gratitude to Governor Mohammed for finding him worthy of the opportunity and pledged to justify the confidence reposed in him by supporting the government to execute viable project for the development of the state.
