President Muhammadu Buhari has sent a condolence message to former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, over the death of his mother-in-law, Hajiya Khadija Musdafa, the matriarch of the Musdafa royal family.
Buhari, in a statement signed by his Spokesman, Garba Shehu, said he joins the government and indigenes of Adamawa State in mourning Hajiya Khadija Musdafa.
He also sent his condolences to the Lamido of Adamawa, HRH Muhammadu Barkindo Aliyu Musdafa and the entire Emirate Council.
The statement said that Buhari commiserates with “the former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who lost a mother-in-law, believing Hajiya Khajiya’s investment of love and kindness will always be remembered and appreciated.”
Buhari noted that as wife of the late Lamido, Dr Aliyu Mustapha, Hajiya was large-hearted and had an accommodating spirit and created a home for everyone, without discrimination, and her dedication to her husband left a legacy of loyalty and service.
The President prayed to the almighty God to receive the soul of the departed and comfort her loved ones.
