The communique urged people to avoid hiding under the guise of religion to perpetrate evil in the communities, stressing that dialogue is the best way to promote peaceful coexistence, especially in Kaduna.
“Dialogue is what the two religions preach and what Interfaith Mediation Center is doing in terms of dialogue among the aggrieved communities.
”That faith-based groups are the only groups that will mediate help to ensure lasting solutions to the crisis, especially in Southern Kaduna.
“That there is no enmity between Muslims and Christians in Nigerians, hence the urgent need to show concern to all the victims of the Southern Kaduna crisis regardless of background.” The communique added
The centre expressed sadness over the continuous killing and destruction of property, despite the deployment of security personnel to the region.
It said “Both the Holy Bible and Qur’an have directed their followers to always have religious tolerance in what they do because both religions preach peaceful coexistence.
