Hadejia Local Government Council in Jigawa State has repatriated 48 female street beggars to their various communities and states.
Special Adviser on Media to the council chairman, Sani Kakabori confirmed the development to DAILY POST.
He said the female street beggars were arrested at Hadejia central market following a series of complaints that some were raped while others were involved in other atrocities.
Sani said out of the number of beggars, 42 were the state indegenes from Taura, Suletankarkar, Babura, Miga and Kafin-Hausa Local Government Areas.
The remaining six were from other States of Katsina, Borno and Yobe.
