The Niger State Government has distributed COVID-19 palliatives to a total of 47, 611 beneficiaries drawn from the 274 wards across the 25 Local Governments of the state.
The state Governor Abubakar Sani Bello, who stated this during the flag-off ceremony in Minna, said the CACOVID items were given out to beneficiaries to cushion the effect of the COVID-19.
Speaking through the Secretary to the State Government SSG, Alhaji Ahmed Ibrahim Matane, Bello revealed that the items distributed include 47,611 of semovita, pastes, 5kg of sugar, 11kg of salt, 10kg of rice and 95,222 packs of Noodles for the 47,611 benefitting households in the state.
He then assured the people and donors of judicious use of the funds and items donated to the state while thanking the donors for the kind gesture.
Presenting the items on behalf of the CACOVID group to the state government, Alhaji Jamilu Mohammed Gidado explained that the gesture is to assist Nigerian on the effect of the pandemic ravaging the world.
He noted the need to ensure that the items reach the targeted groups while apologizing for the delay in the distribution.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Ramatu Ibrahim expressed joy at the gesture, while thanking the donors and state government for their efforts in assisting the people even as she prayed for the quick end of the pandemic.
