Lagos State House of Assembly has commenced a probe of the 2019 Auditor-General’s Statutory Report on the accounts of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).
NAN reports that Public Accounts Committee Chairman, Nurudeen Saka-Solaja, made this known on Tuesday.
He explained that the inquiry was not to witch-hunt but to invite all heads of indicted MDAs.
Saka-Solaja said the committee will seek clarifications as regards the outstanding queries raised in the Auditor-General’s report.
The committee is empowered to direct officials to produce documents or examine such persons as witnesses.
The lawmaker added that monies budgeted for the MDAs would be properly scrutinized to ensure it was judiciously spent.
