Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar has approved the appointment of Sagir Musa Ahmed as the new Commissioner, Ministry of Lands, Urban Development and Regional Planning.
This was contained in a press statement signed by the Secretary to the Government of Jigawa State, which Alhaji Adamu Abdulkadir Fanini issued to DAILY POST.
The statement said “sequel to your recent appointment as Honorable Commissioner and member of the Jigawa State Executive Council, I am directed to convey Government’s approval of your posting to take charge of the Ministry of Lands, Urban Development and Regional Planning with immediate effect ”
The statement further enjoined the new Commissioner to be up and doing, as his past record and experiences show, and urged him to remain committed for the overall development of the State.
“While congratulating the Honorable Commissioner for the well-deserved appointment, we wish him success in the discharge of his official duties,” the statement said.
Before his appointment Sagir Musa Ahmed worked at the Information Resource Center (IRC), Director US Embassy Abuja Nigeria.
He has served at different capacities within the Nigerian Government before joining the US Government as a Foreign Service National. Notably at the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), Presidency Nigeria between 2012 – 2016.
Sagir had earlier served at the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) 2008- 2012 as the agency Liberian/ document controller.
