The Arewa Consultative Forum, ACF, has identified poor and visionless leadership as the bane of Nigeria over the years.
The ACF noted that the leadership had also failed to harness the country’s abundant natural and human resources for the development of the country.
In a message to mark the country’s 60th Independence Anniversary on Thursday, titled, “ACF salutes Nigeria at 60”, signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Emmanuel Yawe, ACF observed that the country had since independence been mired in short-sighted leadership and mind boggling corruption that had shocked her citizens and the world.
ACF noted that Nigeria since independence should have by now achieved greater heights, but that for its visionless leaders, the country is where it is.
The forum noted that the visionless leadership had failed to take advantage of these God-given gifts to build a virile, progressive nation.
ACF lamented, “The country has since independence been mired in short-sighted leadership, mind boggling corruption that has shocked her citizens and the world.
“Nigerian leaders have consistently remained mediocre, refusing to build even on the modest achievements of the First Republic leaders.”
