The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Thursday night, announced 153 new COVID-19 cases.
The new cases were reported from 14 states – Lagos (81), Rivers (21), FCT (11), Ogun (8), Kaduna (7), Oyo (6), Akwa Ibom (5), Osun (3), Katsina (3), Edo (2), Ebonyi (2), Nasarawa (2), Plateau (1) and Kano (1).
It brought the total in the country to 59,001, over six months since the index case was diagnosed.
Out of that number, 50,452 patients have been discharged and 1,112 deaths recorded.
Lagos still has the highest number with 19,542, while Kogi has reported only five.
Nigeria is currently in the Phase III of the National Response on COVID-19 pandemic outbreak.
