The British Government has urged the Buhari led administration to ensure the protection of citizens participating in the End SARS protest.
The world power made the call on Tuesday in a statement posted on Twitter.
The UK, in reference to photos and footages of Police assault of females protesting police brutality at the End SARS movement, stressed that they must be protected.
“We recognise the need for improved approaches to peace & security in Nigeria & how the #SARS protests are about more than policing.
“All members of society, including females, must be better protected & we continue to support constructive efforts to bring about change for the better”, the British High Commission said.
Now on Day 6, demonstrations are continuing nationwide.
On Tuesday, Nigerian authorities bowed to protesters’ request for a thorough reform.
The federal government approved the five-point demands of protest leaders.
A panel to probe the excesses of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) will be constituted in one week.
