The Kwara State government has ordered all officers on grade level 12 and above to report to their respective duty posts immediately.
A circular to that effect signed by the state Head of Service, Mrs Susan Modupe Oluwole, also ordered all staff on essential services to comply with the directive.
The directive is coming on the heels of the ongoing strike action embarked upon by the state labour unions over the controversial signing and implementation of the N30,000 minimum wage.
The circular read in part; ” The strike action was in contravention of the court injunction given by the Akure zone of the industrial court restraining the state joint labour congress from embarking on the strike.
“Consequently, all officers on grade level 12 and above, as well as those who render essential services, are hereby strongly advised to report for work and be at their duty posts to perform their official duties.”
The Head of Service further urged all workers to be guided by the COVID-19 safety protocols as stipulated by the NCDC.
She disclosed that negotiations on the implementation of the new minimum wage and consequential adjustments were still ongoing between the state government and the organised labour with a view to resolving all grey areas.
Mrs Oluwole directed permanent secretaries, all heads of departments and agencies to remind their staff of the provisions of the public service rules and ensure compliance.
