The Senior Pastor of Daystar Christian Centre, Sam Adeyemi, has slammed the Lagos State government over the shooting at the Lekki Toll Gate on Tuesday night.
Scores of protesters were killed and injured, as the Military opened fire on them.
This incident happened hours after the start of a 24-hour curfew imposed by the State government to curtail the violence that has erupted in several parts.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu had directed for the curfew to begin by 4pm.
Later in the day, an extension was granted until 9pm.
Pastor Adeyemi quoted the announcement of the extension on Twitter and wrote: “Why in the world should the young protesters be shot before the start of the enforcement of the curfew?”
Sanwo-Olu has since released a statement promising an investigation into the shooting.
