The Governor of Abia State, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, has directed the expansion of the membership of the Judicial Panel of Inquiry to investigate allegations of extra-judicial killings and brutality by security agents in the state.
Ikpeazu announced this on Thursday.
He said those to be inaugurated on Friday, October 23, 2020, at Government House, Umuahia, at 1pm are as follows:

He also appealed to hardworking Abia youths to avail themselves of the opportunity provided by this Panel to ventilate their grievances on relevant issues and leave the streets immediately to avoid further loss of lives and destruction of properties as they are assured of diligent implementation of the Committee’s report.
Security agents who are currently enforcing the prevailing curfew in the state are advised to exercise necessary restraints to avoid further loss of lives.
“This administration prioritizes the security of lives and property of its citizens and visitors alike, and will, therefore, do everything necessary to ensure an early return to normalcy in the state which will enable our enterprising people go about their normal routines without fear of harm or molestation.
