Hoodlums on Thursday freed prisoners held at the Correctional Service facility in, Okitipupa, headquarters of Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State.
A total of 58 inmates escaped during the jailbreak.
The hoodlums were said to have launched an attack on the facility after attacking the Okitipupa Divisional Police Station where it was set ablaze.
Meanwhile, about eight police Divisions in different parts of the State have been attacked by hoodlums with several policemen sustaining various degrees of injuries.
In Okitipupa, two police Divisions were razed while two Divisions were burnt in Akure, the state capital while others were razed in Ondo town, headquarters of Ondo West Local Government and Ore in Odigbo council area of the state.
Also, the Police Officers Mess in Akure was partly torched as the hoodlums were said to have gone to the houses of some policemen and attacked them.
Confirming the attacks, the Ondo Police spokesman, ASP Tee-Leo Ikoro, cautioned the protesters not to push them to the wall as they have exercised utmost restrain in carrying out the curfew orders.
