The Ondo State Police Command has disclosed that two policemen serving in the state lost their lives during the violent protest which rocked the state and other parts of the country.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Bolaji Salami who disclosed this on Tuesday revealed that a civilian who was among the End SARS protesters also died during the violent protest.
According to the police boss, the deceased policemen who were Sergeants were attacked in Ore, headquarters of Odigbo Local Government and Ondo town, headquarters of Ondo West Local Government Area of the state.
Recall that during the protest hijacked by hoodlums, Police Stations, Correctional Service facilities, Courts among other public facilities and private properties were attacked.
While emphasizing that the perpetrators of the crime will be dealt with, the Commissioner paraded 18 suspected arsonists and looters at the Police headquarters during a press briefing.
He said the suspects were arrested in five different locations in the state while engaging in criminal acts under the pretext of the End SARS protest.
“For those who looted our property, burnt our homes, killed our colleagues, denied us the right to decent living, I am glad to say the law is not sleeping and will definitely take its cause on you.
“It is, therefore, my honour to present to you a total number of eighteen (18) suspects who took part in the destruction, looting, aiding the escape of detainees, arson, stealing, robbery and killing in various parts of Ondo State, using the End SARS protest as a cover for their atrocities.”
Salami maintained that the suspects will be charged to court for prosecution.
