The Khalifah of the noble Muslim family known as Garu Family, Shaykh Kamil Garu has been installed as the first Mufty of Wasinmi – Ajibawo Town in Ogun State. The installation ceremony that took place on Sunday, 1st of November, 2020 at Wasinmi – Ajibawo Central Mosque was well attended by prominent Islamic scholars and personalities such as Chief Fadlulahi Abidemi Sodeinde, Baale Wasinmi – Ajibawo; Shaykh Sulaimon Akorede Kehinde, Chief Imam of Owu Land; Shaykh Tajudeen Adisa Babalola Shafih, Chief Imam, Sango Otta as well as Alhaji Lukman Lawal Garu, CEO of Garu Technologies Nigeria Ltd.
The Chief Imam of Wasinmi – Ajibawo Central Mosque, Shaykh Abdul Rasaq Akanni Adedeji in his speech described Shaykh Kamil Garu as a great Islamic scholars saying that he is a mentor and role model worthy of emulation.
The Guest Lecturer at the event, Shaykh Fadilulah Abd. Azeez Kolawole Shobiyi in his lecture admonished Shaykh Kamil as well as other install Chiefs not to relent in their contribution to the growth and development of Islam saying their installation is a challenge for them to do more.
