The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) said it suffered extensive damages at its offices across the states during the attack that trailed the EndSARS protests.
The commission said its offices and facilities were vandalized and the damages were felt in areas where bye-elections has been scheduled.
INEC National Commissioner and Chairman Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye, made this known in a statement.
He noted that the commission will as a result may have to consult stakeholders before agreeing on specific date for the bye-elections.
“Consequently, the commission will consult with political parties and civil society organisations on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 and then with the media and Inter-Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security (ICCES) on Wednesday November 11, 2020,” the statement read in part.
